This Headphone/Microphone Combo Jack Splitter (4-Position 3.5mm to Dual-Position 3.5mm) is a splitter adapter featuring one 3.5mm Male connector and two 3.5mm Female connectors, allowing you to add a mono microphone input and stereo output to your PC or laptop, through a single 3.5mm audio port. While some of the newer Apple® and Dell® laptops only have a single 3.5mm audio port (4-position) to support audio input and output, this innovative headphone splitter adapter turns the audio port into two separate ports - one can be used for a microphone input connection and the other to connect external speakers (output). The headphone adapter features a compact and rugged design to provide the ideal solution for applications that require portability and takes up very little space in your laptop bag.
NOTICE: This adapter is not a splitter/Y cable. It cannot be used to split the audio output into two separate sets of headphones or speakers. Some laptops and mobile devices will not work with all external microphones. This is usually caused by an impedance mismatch between the microphone and the device. This is due to a hardware incompatibility and is not a limitation of the adapter. To ensure proper hardware detection, we recommend that the external headset be plugged into the adapter before it is connected to the computer or mobile device.
