How the product works
All 8 RJ45 ports on the TL-SG1008PE support Power over Ethernet (PoE). These PoE ports can detect and supply power to any Powered Device that complies with the IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at standard. Power is transmitted along with data through the network cable, allowing you to extend your network to locations where there are no power outlets. For example, you can install an access point, IP camera, IP phone, etc.
Anti-overload device
The TL-SG1008P has the priority function which helps protect the system when its power resources are overloaded. If the overall consumption > 124W, a power priority is applied to each POE port and the lower priority ports are no longer powered.
Port Priority Function
Priority order: Port 1 > Port 2 > Port 3 > Port 4 > Port 5 > Port 6 > Port 7 > Port 8
This function is used to protect the system when the power supply is overloaded.
For example, if ports 1, 2, 4, and 7 each use 30W (the maximum for each port), the system uses 120W in total
If port 3 consumes 25W the total exceeds 124W so port 7 is deactivated and the total consumption drops to 115W below the 124W limit.
