Powering down sleep ports
When a computer or network device is turned off, the corresponding port on a conventional switch still consumes a lot of power. The TL-SG108 automatically detects the connection status of each port and reduces the power consumption of the ports that are in standby mode, achieving up to 72% energy savings.

Energy management according to cable length
Logically, short cables should be less energy-consuming due to the low signal degradation over their length. This is not the case for all devices that consume as much energy regardless of the cable length, unlike the TP-LINK switch which manages this consumption.
