How IPL works
The light-based hair removal device is a pulsed light system that emits intense pulsed light (IPL) at a wavelength ranging from 510 to 1100 nm. The device works on the principles of selective photothermolysis, which causes thermal damage to target chromophores by using light of an appropriate wavelength in pulses. These pulses exceed the thermal relaxation time of the chromophores but spare normal skin by limiting the pulse width below the thermal relaxation time of the skin.
